Citizens of Boomtown support the Ukrainian people
I know for many of you, festival time has started already and some of you will be indulging again this weekend at Let's Rock Southampton.
Unfortunately, I wont be .....
.....driving away from home until the weekend after - when we head for Let's Rock, Shrewsbury.
Anyway enough references to It's Immaterial songs - I need to focus on the matter in hand and importantly, what to wear at the gig?
De De's already set the bar high - she's wearing pyjamas in a tribute to Johnnie Fingers - nice move that!
For me, the decision will be which of my Rats' T-shirts to wear.
One I know I won't be wearing is this I got on Ebay recently.
It’s a limited edition 40-year shirt, signed by His Bobness and I'm concerned that if I wear it then wash it, the ink might come out !!!). So this shirt will take some looking after.
As it says “The Boomtown Rats…forever.”
Mine is #47 out of 50 – I was wondering who in Boomtown is looking after number 1?
it's gonna be a few more weeks until its festival time for me, but i've already done some preparations for the gig in Cavan. for gig attire i'm definitely wearing this denim vest i stitched together last year.
i actually finished doing it in time for the Rats' gig in Kildare, Ireland last year which.. ultimately got cancelled. but now i have the opportunity to actually show it off at a gig! it has a lot of other patches on the front but the main point of interest is the big ones on the back dedicated to the Rats. the top one i made myself using some fabric and paint, and the COB logo was done by a friend of a friend who happened to have an embroidery machine.
We will definitely know you when we see you 😃.
Not me. I'll have to have a look to see what number it id. I've not worn mine either. It has a couple of signatures on it.
