I hope everyone who was looking forward to the Coronation enjoyed it! In honor of it, since the Coronation represents a new beginning, when I drew a card from the Chrysalis Tarot this morning, I asked to be shown a card that will provide guidance for everyone embarking upon a new beginning & the card I turned over is Justice, represented here by the Egyptian goddess, Ma'at. As you can see, I've placed Ma'at upon my special Coronation fabric, which I've already made a valance with & am about to make matching curtains! (The table confetti Chihuahuas are there because they were already there! :) )
Ma'at held the original scales of truth. She balanced the heart of someone who had died against the weight of an ostrich feather to determine a heart light with spirit or heavy with hatred. In Egyptian hieroglyphs, her feather means the word "truth". In the Chrysalis Tarot, Ma'at is depicted holding creation in equilibrium to prevent a return to primeval chaos. I think that wanting to prevent a return to chaos is often the reason for a new beginning. Sometimes we approach new beginnings with great excitement and sometimes we feel sad because it's a choice that had to be made in order to maintain equilibrium & peace in our lives. In either case, the presence of the Justice card encourages you to walk in balance as you enter your new beginning. If you are embarking upon a new beginning because you're leaving something behind that was unhealthy for you, look around you at the beauty of the new world that you're entering with all of the promise that it holds for you. It is never too late to do something and it's never too late to begin again ~ the entire world is yours right now and you can do absolutely anything that you want to. If you're bouncing off the walls with excitement about the change that you're bringing into your life, definitely stay happy because it feels so good to be bouncing off the walls with excitement about things! In this instance, Justice simply encourages you to not view everything as being so perfect that you miss seeing any elements in the new world that require your vigilance. Another significant feature of the Justice card is Ma'at's lioness companion, Sekhmet, Lioness of the Sun. In ancient Egypt, the lotus flower of rebirth was Sekhmet's personal symbol. She protects the righteous & destroys the wicked. Sekhmet encourages you to definitely be happy in your new world but also to maintain thoughtfulness and awareness as you take in all that your new world has to offer. Ma'at's feet are bare, symbolizing purity.
There's so much beauty in this card. I love the Ibis rising just above Ma'at's hand. Symbolic of death & rebirth, the Ibis is a very unique~looking bird that makes the perfect companion here at your new beginning. These beautiful birds are also symbolic of balance, adaptability, and purity. They have an incredible will to survive and can do so even in the most dire of circumstances. They're able to adapt to the need of the moment but are also very strong~willed.
Look down at your beautiful, pure bare feet. The slate before you is completely clean and the canvas is empty. What will you paint?
Love,
Jennifer 🎨🖌️✨🦤
