Hi, everyone! Today, and for the rest of January, I'll be drawing from a deck I discovered in November while looking for card images to use as a part of the design for this corner of Boomtown. I'm so glad I went searching on that November day because what I discovered is a new tarot deck called "The Guardian Of The Night Tarot" by M J Cullinane. It instantly had very deep meaning for me & has become my favorite tarot deck. I want to share with you the card I drew for all of us this morning, which is the beautiful & peaceful Queen of Cups. The Queen of Cups is connected with the beautifully emotional, deeply feeling, & highly intuitive sign of Cancer. Due to my Moon being in Cancer, this is one of those signs I could talk about endlessly & still feel as though I haven't told you enough ~ which is actually true of every sign! I just live & breathe this particular one so fully! Fortunately, I received guidance on where to take this at the beginning of my day. I began my day by listening to the Ryan Tubridy radio show on the RTE radio app, so if you live in Ireland (I'm in America), you may have heard this very thing yourself! This morning, Ryan interviewed a self~published author who released her 1st book last year called "The Thing About Feathers". Her name is Janine Edgeworth and while her book is a work of fiction, her inspiration for writing it is the pain she still feels from her mother dying from cancer when she was just 7. In talking about still feeling that pain, she said, "I feel silly saying that", to which Ryan Tubridy replied,
" WHY WOULD YOU FEEL SILLY ABOUT SOMETHING YOU FEEL? YOU'RE ENTITLED TO THAT FEELING. "
I love those words as much as I love my new tarot deck...as much as I love feelings themselves! I would love to be able to say those words to everyone in the world today:
WHY WOULD YOU FEEL SILLY ABOUT SOMETHING YOU FEEL? YOU'RE ENTITLED TO THAT FEELING.
All feelings that you have are real. Not one of them is silly. Are you still hurting over a relationship that ended "long ago"? What's " long ago"? Who's setting the timer? Is your heart still heavy from the loss of someone you love? Of course it is... you love them. Have you stopped loving them? No. So, of course you're still hurting from losing them. These are just two examples. There's a whole world of things we can have feelings about and none of them are silly. In fact, I find feelings to be the most real & truest compass that we have because we can't pre~meditate them, they just are. A feeling wells up from deep inside you. You didn't make that feeling happen ~ it just did. It's real ~ it's pure. Let it guide you. The Queen of Cups is about listening to and honoring all of your deepest feelings.
At the center of the Queen of Cups (Cups being the water element) is an orca whale. Whales symbolize wakening your inner depths. If there's anything that's deeply painful to you or if you're going through a time of being uncertain as to what to do or where to go next, allow yourself to be in a place that's beautiful & peaceful to you & let all of your feelings come to you. All of those feelings are real. Not a single one of them is silly. Spending time with them, just like the orca, the crab, and the peacefully swimming fish allowing themselves to float along naturally in the water of the Queen of Cups card, will allow your Knowing & your truest feelings to come to the surface and you will know what you're meant to do & where you're meant to be. May Tranquility be yours.
Love,
Jennifer ✨💙💙✨
