Irish band, BAGATELLE, done a cover of an old Tom waites song "jersey girl" brilliant vocals, great use of the saxophone. Wonderful piano by Liam Reilly.
Has anyone heard the session Simon and Garry did of Mondays in their days prior to the reforming of the band? Did hear a recorded version and thought it wasn’t bad. I particularly liked the ending to the song, which actually rocked!
I love Pino Palladino's fretless bass on the Paul Young cover, but prefer Daryl Hall's voice. Buckley's "Hallelujah" was a miraculous transformation of the original. I heard a live version of "White Light/White Heat" by Bowie that's better than any recording I know, and I've heard Bernard Fowler top Bowie with his cover of "Diamond Dogs." I prefer the Charles Bradley soul cover of "Changes" to the Black Sabbath original.
Did you mean Love will Tear us Apart?. Usually prefer the original, although Def Lep did a very good version of Action, with Andy Scott at the session. Also Stranglers Walk on By was a great version and Jeff Buckley ‘Hallelujah‘...beautiful.

Agree wit u on the hothouse flowers track..good band..v.gbband..v.goband..v.good live.
I have always thought these songs were better than the original
Hothouse Flowers – I can see clearly now
UB40 – Red Red Wine
Roxy Music - Jealous Guy
Amsterdam - Bowie
I wonder what the original artists think when a cover version sounds better and is often more successful.
