I was delighted when TV Smith agreed to a chat about his last album 'Lockdown Holiday', the circumstances that led to him writing it and the challenges faced by musicians during this Covid pandemic.
For those who don't know TV, he was founding member of the Adverts who had a hit with 'Gary Gilmore's Eyes' and released the classic punk album 'Crossing The Red Sea With The Adverts'. Following The Adverts TV has released a number of solo albums and toured the world. His Facebook page states that over 40 years he has played 3700 gigs (not songs as I said in the chat) in 24 countries.
He released 'Lockdown Holiday' in 2020 to critical aclaim and resumed touring in late 2021.
There is a fascinating documentary about TV Smith called 'We Who Wait' that is available on YouTube. For those who think the life of a musician is glamourous it certainly dispells those myths!

And below, the first track released from the album
Just left a superb gig with TV Smith supporting Ruts DC in London. Outstanding performances and great sets.,We need to see these artists of our youth while we still can. Don’t hesitate and live to regret it fellow COB.
If any TV Smith fans visit this post after he flagged it up, firstly, welcome, secondly, well done for navigating the site (Tim was impressed….!) and thirdly, can you just ‘like’ so we know you took the trouble to visit? Many thanks.
Excellent track, and great to hear today of all days after that PMQ. Fantastic interview too. Cheers your worship and many thanks to the guest also 👍
