This is hopefully easier to follow. It’s, again, the bones of it, ready to play with. I feel it looks simpler and more straightforward like this. Grateful for views and thoughts.

A couple of questions: * Is City Hall the top priority link to which you want visitors to have ready access? * Do you anticipate having the full board visible in a typical browser window, without scrolling?
In this layout, City Hall will be the easiest box to access, whether a user approaches from a laptop, tablet, or cell phone. I am not hip enough to know whether a chat room would draw more users than a forum (like this one).
At second glance, I see that Downtown is highlighted in the prominent yellow box on the board's interior. My brain was fooled to look for it on the Monopoly sidewalk. That probably doesn't really tell you as much about the typical user as it does about little ol' ADHD me.
I do think it's ideal to have the 2-3 most important links arranged around the upper left. The familiar "GO" square in the lower left, however, could likely host something else important (e.g., gigography) that isn't a duplicate of the prominent yellow box, and maybe isn't as frequently revisited by the same user.
Definitely not trying to nitpick. I aim to be encouraging and constructive. You're clearly putting loads of effort into this, and it will be fun!

This looks MUCH BETTER digitally-I love all the nods to rats songs and albums in there!!! But I am curious about the meat factory,,,is that a reference to our dear Bob‘s past job in an abatoir, where he wrote Rat Trap???
Doubt the Boomtown Rats believe in any monopoly...except when Bob takes over everything 😁
