I read this yesterday and thought it was an interesting piece - about the demise(?) of the CD.

I'd completly missed the fact that the format was 40 years old!

One of my memories from the days CDs were new was on BBC breakfast TV when they smeared jam on a CD, wiped it clean with a piece of kitchen roll and then played it.!

Be interested in your views - I still buy and listen to CDs. Vinyl's great but at 20 minutes a side and then you have to turn it over, it tends to interrupt other things I'm doing - at around 50 minutes, I don't get that with CDs. Plus I can rip CDs for my portable music player.
