By edict of the mayor it falls to me to offer some suggestions for your aural delectation this week, and apologies for breaking convention by both pluralising and expediting delivery. I've included more than one as they are loosely linked, and I'm posting today as tomorrow is set aside for football travel, and possibly serious drinking.
And so, with almost professional segue (I stress almost), my bands for your critique are..... Serious Drinking, Higsons and my personal favourite Farmer's Boys. The link is Norwich and the University of East Anglia, where they all formed and found varied degrees of success in the early 80s. Note the Higsons also included a young Charlie Higson! And yes I appreciate their track is a cover.
Here are my samplers - for me there's a freshness and energy and a lack of taking themselves too seriously, which appeals, especially with the last one, from the excellent album 'With These Hands'. Be interested to know what fellow citizens think.... happy listening.
