Today on Citizens of Boomtown, we’re marking the release of the single Charmed Lives from 1982.
There doesn’t seem to have been an official promo for this single, but there are a few contributions on You-Tube – this one with some very dodgy artwork in the middle!!!
The 7” and 12” releases drew on the artwork from the parent album – “V Deep” – and in the UK, the 7” single came in two flavours:
· A pretty standard 45 release – indicated by an easily-missed single red dot on the top right of the picture sleeve (as above).
· A special double disc set with two bonus tracks – with two red dots on the picture sleeve. The bonus tracks were Nothing Happened Today (recorded live in Singapore) and a very interesting instrumental version of A Storm Breaks.
Outside the UK, the 7” single was only released in Australia (it took me ages to find a copy of the Australian version)
and Ireland (again, this can be hard to find)
For more on the record and some of your comments from back in the day, you can always take a look at last year’s review:

Keep leading those Charmed Lives, folks....!!!
I have the 12", bought it when it came out. B side is an excellent instrumental version of A Storm Breaks😎
