And now, the moment you’ve all been waiting for……..

….the results of the “Most Iconic Moment in the Career of The Boomtown Rats” (catches breath) poll.

Back in July, a hand-picked squad of Rats fans defined half a dozen defining moments for the Citizens of Boomtown to reflect on, while we were all lying back, soaking up the summer sun. The challenge was to choose the most iconic, defining moment in the history of the band.

The candidates were:

a) The release of the debut single Looking After Number 1

b) Rat Trap reaches number one on Top of the Pops

c) I Don’t Like Mondays gets revealed to the world

d) The Boomtown Rats are banned form playing gigs in Ireland

e) The band’s brilliant performance on Live Aid

f) The Second Coming. The Boomtown Rats reform at the Isle of Wight festival in 2013.
