Have you ever really embarrassed yourself in the presence of Bob and the band? I have.
After the Hay On Wye solo gig we were standing outside drinking wine talking to Bob when somehow I managed to spill red wine down his suit. I was ready for the f's and c's etc. I said did I do that, I am really sorry He said you can pay for the dry cleaning with a grin. I said at least it's not a new suit, to which he replied, yes I got it in a charity shop. Later at the hotel I went over and offered to buy him a glass of red to make up for it. He said that is very kind of you but I have had enough to drink tonight. I never did get the cleaning bill.
Apart from the rats etc. i seem to have quite a big dose of twat syndrome, whereby i decide i'm behaving like one. or come across as one. but more and more i'm thinking i need to be kinder to myself. i have to fight those critical voices in my head, just by finding myself, and by keeping on keeping on. Sometimes, keeping on keeping on is a nice simple way to be :D
I've never met the band! 😥 Maybe one day - after Coronavirus
being a fan and/or having fans, isn't really real, i reckon. it's the real friendships you form along the way that are the real ones. if you get my drift.
Haha yeh the first time i was in Bob's p;resence at some after party at some London gig. i got the opportunity to get a pic with Bob. Irene i think it was you that took the pics?? All these weird kind of noises came out my mouth. i've never squealed like a star struck school kid before like that, ever. lol. so i spose that was kind of embarassing......... i mean in a way i find the whole 'being a fan' thing, quite embarassing. but here i am, doing it anyway. lol. but also, i've noone to blame but myself i spose..... i prefer to have fans than be a fan normally. perhaps it's an ego thing, i dunno. i'd rather meet people on equal footing at the end of the day. :D
I remember it well, I was standing with you. He said he wouldn’t hear of you buying him a drink and wasn’t in the least bit worried.
my most embarrassing moment was the first time I met him. I was totally start struck and couldn’t even look at him in the face. It was so obvious, I had raising of the eyebrows, but he was very kind.
I doubt that anyone on the scene would ever forget it, and it does make for a very fine story. :-) I'm glad that Bob took it in stride.
Oh my god, what a story that was! At least Bob was kind and witty about the whole situation, haha! I’ve not met Bob and the band yet so I don’t have a story to tell, but yours was very entertaining and I can’t wait to see what other people say
