You're definitely not old, Jules! Threads will have a smaller following at first but eventually, it too, will be huge & a Bob Geldof account on there would be great! I definitely love the idea of each of the accounts on each platform posting its own individual things every day (or close to every day). That gives someone who loves an artist a lot to look forward to! And it's also true, as you said, some people love one form of social media but dislike another or may only have time to check out one each day, so they stick with their favorite. Anyways, the more love that's spread is always the better & you're amazing at doing your very big part in it! ⭐

Ok gotcha. Thanks for clarifying. I'm all for spreading the word but not so keen on redirecting from one platform to another (YouTube is possibly the exception). If it's worth knowing put it straight on wherever, but I also can't see the point of duplicating either.

Oh, no ~ no duplicating! I believe in keeping everything fresh & exciting to keep people coming back for more! Obviously not every little thing is going to be Tweeted, Instagramed, Threaded, or Facebooked out but a very good example of how all of these platforms help each other out is that Hamish (I definitely didn't mean to leave Hamish out, either! He's holding down the fort on the Rats' Twitter & Instagram accounts) decided to send out a Tweet & an Instagram alerting everyone to how we're going to be honoring Garry next month. Last I looked, that post (on this website) has 575 views. I am, and I know everyone else is, going to be encouraging as many people to come on here to do that as is possible in whatever the way is that they choose to honor him. Councillor James has been a Boomtown Rats diehard since he was in high school (I think the proper British term is college) but he only just discovered this website in mid~late August. I found it because one day I thought to myself, "I wonder if the Boomtown Rats have a website? I'm sure they do!", so I searched it & found Citizens of Boomtown. I searched and James searched because we're exceptionally passionate about music & don't think twice about doing something like that ~ it's second~nature. There are other people out there, though, that really love music, too, and would love to participate in a Boomtown Rats website but they might not be as 100%~music~focused as I am, so they keep meaning to look but they just never do. I guess it's about capturing different audiences on different platforms. Some people are on all of them, some on some of them. I understand though about duplicating. I'm getting left behind with it all now. The world is too fast 🤣.

I am 10 yrs older than you Jules. So I must be ANCIENT. I have been doing the Twitter for Bob since 2011 and before that a Myspace page since 2006. Bob personally asked for Jules and I to do these pages. It is a honour that he trusts us with them. I don't want to do any more than Twitter. Refuse to call it X.

Amen to still calling it Twitter! X is one of the most boring things I've ever heard in my life! Could there possibly be a name more cold & sterile than that?! I'm sure it's only a matter of time until Elon Musk sells it to someone else. But about all of these old and ancient people...where are they?! Because I just don't see them!
