In a desperate attempt to improve my Spanish, I have just been listening to RNE ( BBC Five Live equivalent in Spain) when they play 'Mondays' in the lead up to the news. Not earth shattering I know, but just how often do you hear them now!

I'll hear the Rats played on SiriusXM every so often ( in my car and I'm only in it a few times per month), on the Underground channel. Last time I heard? Was a few weeks ago, Chris Carter's Brittish Invasion show, Neon Heart 💙
I obviously don't listen to the right stations. This week??? Last time I remember was Mondays on Radio London one Sunday about 2 years ago. Did get introduced as a classic though.
Mondays or Rat Trap get the occasional play on Irish stations. Frankly the idea of waiting for some dj to play your favourite songs on the radio is now well outdated. You can create your own playlists and use YouTube Spotify or countless apps to find good music. It doesn't need to be outsourced anymore. Last night I listened to about 8 tracks from the Stones new album Hackney Diamonds all for free on YouTube. I can check out artists and albums ,both new and old ,so Im not really sure what the point of music radio is anymore. Most stuff they play is just repetitive songs you've heard a thousand times already. Most DJs just prattle away and few seem to actually be into music.
💔 Oh! 💔 Oh! 💔 My heart is BREAKING! 💔 Oh!....I'm staggering across the room....That last sentence! Nick! WHATEVER do you mean?! Did you mean to put this post up on a website for a band called the Hilltoppers? Because I heard the Hilltoppers on 50's on 5 on Sirius XM just last week and, out loud, I said: "Mommy, the Hilltoppers!" (My mother's no longer here.) One day when I was in highschool, I came upon the most amazing thing in our attic ~ a black wool beanie with some small badges on it in different styles but ONE COMMON THEME ~ they were all for a band called the Hilltoppers, who were clearly from the 1950's. I couldn't believe this incredible find! (I'm convinced that I was alive in the 50's & am reincarnated from that life, which I loved!) I went running down the attic stairs, saying, "Mommy! Mommy! WHO are the Hilltoppers and can I wear this to school tomorrow?!" (I did & my friends roared with laughter!)
The Hilltoppers are a vocal group from the 1950's & my mother and her friends LOVED them. My mother was president of their fan club. I feel it very important to say here that my mother braved some similar things as I did in school because she loved Elvis and was the 1st person at arlington high school to do so (I can't bring myself to capitalize it). She wore black pedal pushers and pink high~collared jackets, just like I, myself, would have worn! She loved Elvis MUCH more than the Hilltoppers but, yes, was president of the Hilltoppers fan club.
I DID get excited last week when Sirius XM played the Hilltoppers. But the BOOMTOWN RATS?! WHAT are you talking about, Nick? I'M hearing the Boomtown Rats EVERYWHERE! Blasting out of car windows, spilling onto the street from open apartment windows, bands taking their best shot at covering songs from "Citizens Of Boomtown" and "Out The Back of Boomtown" and never quite measuring up but at least their TRYING to have the attitude & power of the Boomtown Rats! You can only PRAISE them for striving to be like the Greatest Rock 'n' Roll Band In The World!
Love,
Jennifer ❤️
