https://youtu.be/UPOgN7MuOug?si=LgIW42mlBi5XoMM0 I love this song because of what it means to Elton. It's his favorite because of how much he loves Bernie as it's autobiographical of their early days. https://youtu.be/TYgokXvaLRk?si=a_NcC6VP0WAmh1SU And just cause I love the Jam (1977)... Who ever thinks an 18 year old kid has the insight to write songs like this!

😲 Great explanation. Thanks!!
Wow! Haven't heard that one in a looooong while! Great song and great band. A wee bit older than me 😉 so doubt I would have run into them but they are from a lovely city not far from me (Pacific Palisades). Being in a business that put me in the middle of the public on a daily basis, I've met or have run into a lot of musicians in and around LA over the decades. A few that stand out are Lars Ulrich, Glenn Tilbrook, Boyd Tinsley (DMB), Steve Jones(!) and the only one I've ever talked about was Charlie & Shirley Watts ❤️ They were both beyond lovely... In honor of meeting Steve, I'll put a fav up: https://youtu.be/TQ3dM6N8O0o?si=so1rnzhPKei9L8lD
Hey @cmarx - got reminded of this one earlier today. Can't believe it's coming up 50 years since it charted. One of the first singles I ever bought, albeit much later, when I actually had pocket/paper round money to indulge on cheap singles from the rack in local newsagent.
Believe these guys hail from your neck of the woods? Ever see them locally back in the day? (or was this a little after your time?? 😉😂 )
Great song. Bonkers lyrics though.....
Choices!! Easy (like a Sunday morning), or perhaps Lazy Sunday Afternoon for later risers or Citizens east of London. Possibly a bit too chilled for Sunday Bloody Sunday, so my Boombox bangers (obviously subjectively) are as follows. One classic Britpop (sons of the Kinks in my view) and one a little more melancholy but still evocative.
Great snapshot of 90s and 80s fashion too.
Seems fitting as a Johnny come lately to this section to post this one, that’s possibly not as well known as it should be imho.
Combines my love of Pogues and great lyrics with a pretty tasty tune.
Be good to hear opinions.
What can I say? It was a Modfather kind of day... This song recorded on the record is terrific! But I thought this live version was excellent. https://youtu.be/3CmG0bmgHxI?si=8pcsq_yS26YX2THd Paul wrote this after a day on the beach collecting pebbles with his son 💙 https://youtu.be/SkJQ_fEgDpg?si=aIVekjw-D4CTotOE Couldn't choose between these two gems off of a self titled album from the early 90's... https://youtu.be/0libcaP0F34?si=e89QfkDITKpUwSd0 https://youtu.be/zgoNgfcmUTY?si=f6yKHaQExWikSrP3
