So like all good postcards this one has got back long after the suitcases have been put away and the suncream is back in the messy drawer. I went back in May, when Charlie was ascending the throne, and the republic seemed like the best place to get away to somewhere they couldn't give a feck. It was whilst here that I was reinvigorated by the Rats after a long sleep.
The cafe below lays claim to where Rat Trap was written File:Bob Geldof and the Boomtown Rats (memorial plaque).jpg - Wikimedia Commons but Bob recently wrote in his "Tales of Boomtown Glory" that he wrote it in the slaughterhouse (p.269). I don't know which is correct but the cafe does some quite fabulous cakes and drinks and the decor is wonderful!
aw man, i pass by that caff quite a lot but i had no idea it’s (possibly) so significant to the Rats’ story!
