Two hot days in June 1876 more than 260 soldiers and personnel met defeat and death at the hands of several thousand Lakota and Cheyenne warriors. Among them was Lt Col George Armstrong Custer and every member of his immediate command. Although the Indians won the battle subsequently lost the war for their independence.
Here they have a road that runs through where the battle fields was which goes for approximately 5-6 miles! There information boards along the way and stone markers to show where and name where the men fell.
Also this is on the Crow reservation!
