Tonight when I went to type the original post which was going to appear here, something on my phone caught my eye...it's probably caught your eye, too. Yesterday, October 2nd, in an interview with the BBC, Bob Geldof revealed that he's currently involved with the production of a musical which will run from January 26th~March 30th, 2024, at the Old Vic Theatre in London. At the heart of this musical is a real~life love story that evolved out of the events transpiring around....Live Aid. The day...the event... that I know means so much to so many here. I know it does to me. It's one of the things that I evolved out of, actually. Called "Just For One Day", with Bob being portrayed by actor Craige Els, what weaves itself around this musical are the real life testimonies of people just like me & you whose lives were changed forever by Live Aid. There really isn't a way to describe the emotions that July 13th, 1985 stirred. It's actually too much to put into words. For many here, I don't need to put it into words because you experienced it, too. For those who didn't experience it the first time around, you will now. That's the biggest reason Bob has given the go~ahead for "Just One Day" to begin production. He told the BBC, "If this musical encourages just one person to have a positive impact for the better, then it will be a job well done."
Invited by the writer of the production, author John O'Farrell and director, Luke Sheppard, to see a run~through of the show, Bob said he was blown away and that "there was not a dry eye in the house." Would you like to experience this, too? Tickets go on sale this Friday, October 6th, and 10% of the ticket sales will go directly to the Band Aid Trust.
How has Bob encouraged you, moved you, inspired you? I know he has. You're here. Soon the entire world will be taking about Bob again and how inspired they are by his actions to help relieve famine in Ethiopia. You're here now, and you've never forgotten for one day how Band Aid...Live Aid...changed your life. For Just One Day ~ Bob Geldof's Birthday ~ open your heart and share the story inside...We'd all love to know. Bob's very busy in overseeing the production (while fully encouraging the writer & director to create their vision) but somehow you always just FEEL it when people are saying good things about you! Let's help him to feel it! Please share your story in the comments section here & be sure to include the hashtag #GiftsForBob just beneath your story or somewhere within it and all stories will be featured here on Bob's birthday this Thursday, October 5th!
In The Live Aid Spirit,
